Presentation details for submitted Exhibition Art Work
At recent exhibitions there has been a little confusion about some of the presentation details for submitted work, particularly framed, glazed paintings. For the Hillier's exhibition we have worked hard to make the presentation section on the paperwork as clear as possible. Below are three pictures that we hope will also help. We are always happy to answer queries.
Teresa (Rogers) has kindly provided the template below for making a mini stand suitable for unframed work, from mount board of about A4 size. Example of one such unframed work sitting on the frame also below.
Fabulous workshop run by Lindsey Coles, who was generous with sharing her expertise and encouraging of our efforts - thoroughly enjoyed by all. Lindsey demonstrated, and we all attempted, her charcoal drawing technique as a way to get into the subject matter, building colour onto texture paste with dry brush work to pick out the texture and worked through stages of her painting, which although not complete was very impressive. Lindsey has kindly donated, not just one painting, but two for our summer exhibition. These are shown (last two photos) but are even better 'in the flesh' as the photo is taken with the portfolio covering.
April meeting was internationally renowned sculptor Mark Swan demonstrating the making of an armature for the development of a wax sculpture....good attended meeting with several welcomed visitors. Mark returns to the Society in October to run a workshop. The pictures show some of his sculptures - probably a bit beyond what we will be able to accomplish in October!
